Not that I'm there yet, but I thought I'd give an update on the mouse hunt, currently in progress in Ondrej's home town of Projestov, Czech Republic, which I think is about 4 hours from Prague. He set his first traps on tuesday night at a nearby farm. This farm apparantly had about 10 cats, so that didn't exactly seem like a recipe for success. But, he went back wednesday morning and 9 of the traps were empty and in the last one, a mouse! So he killed it, and it's being stored in his moms freezer. HA. I don't think she's all that happy about that, but all the chemicals he sent from the U.S. to help with the preserving are stuck in customs in Prague. So for now, that will have to do. He set a few more traps at a different location wednesday night and I think he got two more mice... so far so good!
Meanwhile, today is my birthday! And my friend Ellen from Antarctica sent me a lovely present for the occasion. A hat that says MICE on it! It's totally coming with me.... it's no coincidence that the day it showed up is the day Ondrej started catching mice! So I leave next saturday! Can't wait. I just got a new lens for my camera, so I'll be properly equipped to be blogging and taking mug shots of the mice!
... arrived in the mail today! I set it up in my living room to make sure it was complete, and to check all the seams. Then the dogs got in. But here it is, our new home for the next 4 weeks, minus some hotels mixed in to keep us sane. I better get used to it! T minus 4 days until I leave- I'm really excited, hope all my stuff gets there all right. I have 2 layovers on the way, one in Newark, and one in Amsterdam.
